British economist and journalist, he worked as a senior economist in the international trade division at the World Bank and was Director of Studies at the Trade Policy Research Centre in London.
In 1987 he joined the “Financial Times”, where he is currently Associate Editor and Chief Economics Commentator. In 2000 he was awarded the title of Commander of the “Order of the” British Empire (CBE) for his services to financial journalism.
He has also received international recognition, such as the Ischia International Journalism Award in 2012.
