Bruno Ceretto

Bruno Ceretto

Biography

Born in 1937 in Santo Stefano Belbo (Cuneo) on February 22, he represents the irrepressible and volcanic side of the family. After completing his studies in Accounting, at the end of the “50s, he joined the” family Wine Company where, together with his brother Marcello, he represents the second generation involved in viticulture and wine production. A storyteller and creative, he defined the strategic commercial, financial, and marketing structure at the core of the “Ceretto entrepreneurial venture, a commitment that brought the small family business from its origins to the status of a globally recognized brand. In addition to promoting their own products, selecting the best vineyards, and constantly pursuing quality, the main purpose of his activity has always been the promotion of the Piedmontese territory, through various promotional initiatives worldwide in favor of Langhe wine and cuisine, which have been covered and published with great prominence by the world’s most important newspapers. Convinced that oenological research and the pleasure of a good bottle are above all a matter of culture, with his brother he gave impetus to activities in favor of” architecture, “art as ‘patrons’ of” another era, and it is also thanks to these initiatives that in 2001 he was awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro by President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. Every idea finds its natural setting in the Piedmontese hills, among vineyards, cellars, and rural festivals in the “farmyard, and so from the” 90s he launched courageous and avant-garde cultural projects such as the Langhe Ceretto literary prize, which for 10 years selected texts that, “in the year, addressed themes related to food” culture; or he promoted extremely contemporary design restorations on his own cellars, giving life to some architectural symbols of the Langhe hills: the Cube in Castiglione Falletto in the Bricco Rocche Winery, or the “Grape of the Monsordo Winery in Alba. Furthermore, from a meeting with artists Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett, he began the journey that brought the Ceretto family closer to” art. Bruno Ceretto has a daughter, Roberta, and a son, Federico, who have been involved in the family business since the late “90s, along with their cousins.”
