Alexander Mas is a Professor of Economics and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an expert in labor markets. He has held top positions in the United States federal government, including Chief Economist at the Department of Labor and the Office of Management and Budget of the Presidency. He is a member of the Economic Advisory Panel of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and co-director of the Labor Studies Program at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Previously, he held the William S. Tod Professorship of Economics at Princeton University.
