Tony Venables CBE, FBA, is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, a fellow of the Econometric Society and the British Academy, and a part-time professor at Monash University in Melbourne. Previously, he held positions as a professor of economics at Oxford and the London School of Economics, and served as Chief Economist at the UK’s Department for International Development. He has published works in the fields of international trade, spatial economics, natural resources, and economic development.
