Luigi Zingales

Biography

He is Robert C. McCormack Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance at the University of Chicago “’s Booth School of Business. He obtained a degree in Economics summa cum laude from” Bocconi University in Milan and a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He was President of the “American Finance Association (2014) and became Director of the Stigler Center for the Study of the” Economy and the State at the “University of Chicago (2015). Since 2018, he has been co-host of the Capitalis” n’t podcast, which explores how capitalism can go wrong and what we can do to fix it.
His research interests range from corporate governance to financial development, from political economy to the economic effects of culture. He has numerous publications in major economics and finance journals.
He is the author of: Saving Capitalism from the Capitalists, Einaudi (2008, with R. Rajan); A Capitalism for the People: Recapturing the Lost Genius of American Prosperity, Rizzoli (2012); Europa o No: Dream to Realize or Nightmare to Escape, Rizzoli (2014).
